Although, I may not have the experience and knowledge of older and more or more well taught artists,there is one thing I have noticed with certain aspects of paintings and drawings that involve wings. Many paintings and drawings that have either black angel wings or the soft white wings are usually based on those of birds and birds themselves have wings that never change even if some of them are imaginary creatures. Dragons wings in and of themselves also follow a basic rule to wing designs or at least to me this is how I see it. The dragons wings maybe be less feather like but still follow the basic bone structure or close to one of the birds wings. I myself have been doing this before but now i find myself thinking. "the only real rules of art are the ones we limit and make for ourselves". Thus began my artistic side trying to draw wings that still resemble wings but have a lot more flexibility to them. This so far has been no easy task but like all things one should always keep practicing and art is no different especially if you wish for your own art to soar high in the sky.
